What should I Eat

Hello to all
Did you know that there are five foods you should eat every day?   Eating these foods will help you out in the all run.  I also know that when it comes to eating right it can be a challenge when on a budget, it’s certainly not impossible.  I think of this as your cheat sheet to the five inexpensive foods you should eat every day for optimum health.  The first food is l leafy greens.  Many medical experts call them one of nature’s miracle foods.   For example leafy greens like kale are high in nutrients like vitamins A and C that can lower your risk of cancer.  They can also prevent diabetes and high blood pressure.
The second food is nuts.   Many nutritionists recommend nuts like almonds, cashews and walnuts because they’re high in natural fiber. Fiber slows your digestive process, keeping hunger and unhealthy mid-afternoon snacks at bay.
The third food is onions. They have been studies that have shown that consuming onions on a regular basis may reduce symptoms of asthma and the risk of developing stomach cancer. Add them to soups and stir – fry, and just remember the stronger the onion, the greater the health benefit.
The fourth food is whole grains.  Many medical experts say that refined grains, like white rice and pasta, have lost 90% of their nutritional value through the refining process.   As if that weren’t reason enough to choose whole grains like brown rice, quinoa and whole oats, a recent study showed that a diet rich in whole grains actually flattens your belly by reducing fat storage in your lower abdominal region.
Last but not least, yogurt making it part of your daily eating routine can improve your digestion if you’re buying the right stuff. Check that the label lists “active cultures” to make sure you’re getting healthy probity’s, and pick a yogurt rich in vitamin D to prevent osteoporosis.

Is it Time to say Goodbye!!

Hello to all
As a freshman who just entered St. John’s University, I must say that my first semester in college was a deficient time but has gone by so quickly. At the same time my English 1000 C course helped this semester to be exciting and memorable and special for me. As many of you may or not know that I originally I started this blog as an assignment for my English 1000C course. I did not know what to expect or what would come out of it, because this is my first blog. This assignment gave me the opportunity to research a topic that I am interested in, health and staying healthy.
Now as the semester draws to an end, it is time to take a look back at all the progress I’ve made with this blog, and I can see how much I’ve learned about health and staying health. After all the research that I have done, I realized that there is not end to this subject matter. With that being said I can see myself continuing on with my blog.
Sincerely
Hope hear from you all soon.

Time to Eat

Today at dinner time in Montgoris were almost everyone eats. I thought to myself this is the perfect place and moment to take a survey about health. I asked three questions to about thirty students at random. Only three questions were asked.  I did this to make it easy for everyone. Because when it is time to eat no one really wants to be asked questions, other than what is it that you like would to eat. At the same time I did not want the survey to be too long or short.  Now all of the questions are yes or no answer. I did this because it’s quick and effective. Most people don’t like being asked question when they are about to eat.  Finally, my questions tie into the next post that I am working on.
My first question was:  Do think the food is healthy?
15/30 people answered yes.
My second question was: Do you think you’re a healthy person?
26/30 people answered yes.
My third question was: Do you think Montgoris is the healthiness place to eat on campus?
10/30 people answered yes
